Psychiatrist- Medical Director

Location: WellSpan Medical Group, Ephrata, PA
Schedule: Full Time

General Summary

Provides psychiatric services to patients in the Child and Adolescent Program, and other specialized outpatient behavioral health programs as required. Assists in the review of quality, adequacy and appropriateness of resident education within the program.

Activities Related to BHU

  • Presence and leadership on treatment planning meetings on the extended acute and acute inpatient service
  • Assist with implementing behavioral health standards on the inpatient units and the ED
  • Support/collaborate with other behavioral health clinical professionals, including the CRNP
  • Provides clinical/administrative supervision to physician/APC staff within the department
  • Provides direct patient care services alongside Medical Director duties
  • Participate on committees and attends and/or conducts meetings and participates in community education, as mutually agreed upon
  • Participates in Medical Staff activities as required and/or requested
  • Participates in monthly BH Site Director meetings
  • Participates in other required WMG meetings (Triannuals, SOMG, retreat, annual dinner)
  • 365 day back up of on call MD (excluding STO and leave time)
  • Weekly administrative meetings
  • Additional Clinical/Administrative meetings, as indicated

Activities Related to WECH

  • Attendance at all required administrative and clinical meetings at WECH
  • Collaboration with the WECH pharmacy

Consultation Liaison/ED's

  • Collaborate and meet regularly with the ED and ED providers
  • Responsible for direct oversight and coordination of the consult team, including daily meetings with site manager, consult team and nurse manager/clinical director
  • Weekday coordination of ED throughput

Other

  • Other additional duties as identified and approved

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required or
  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required

Licenses:

  • Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required or
  • Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry or the American Osteopathic Board of Psychiatry. Upon Hire Required and
  • Completion of a Psychiatry residency and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Upon Hire Required and
  • Must qualify and be a member of the Medical Staff of York Hospital. Upon Hire Required
