Manager Crisis Intervention - York Hospital - Days

Location: WellSpan Philhaven, York, PA
Schedule: Full Time

Full-time (80 hours biweekly)

Weekdays, daytime hours with flexibility to cover evenings, nights and weekends as needed

General Summary

Develops, implements, coordinates and evaluates the activities of the Crisis Intervention program. Manages the daily operations of multiple sites and supervises assigned staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Develops, maintains and coordinates programming and oversees daily operations.
  • Provides direct service and back-up when short staffed. Assists in clinical activities as a practitioner and resource person as needed.
  • Acts as liaison and coordinator of services to the System, counselors and community.
  • Compiles data for and prepares regularly scheduled or special reports, analyses and statements.

Common Expectations:

  • Selects, trains/orients, assigns department staff, evaluates performance, and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Assists in developing budgets. Ensures that program operates within budget.
  • Develops and revises departmental policies and procedures. Supports and enforces departmental and organizationalpolicies as well as state and federal accreditation standards. Supervises preparation of statistical and quality improvement/assurance reports.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning theimpact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, aswell as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patientpopulation. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment. Providesdirect patient care to assigned patient age group(s).
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvementand innovation.
  • Coordinates crisis intervention with county agents and other agencies.
  • Conducts educational sessions on crisis intervention, with regards to the Mental Health Procedures Act, to System employees, schools and social service agencies.
  • Participates as a member of a variety of committees. Interfaces with other departments and physicians to ensure the provision of an appropriate service delivery and referral system.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Degree Required

Work Experience:

  • 3 years Experience in human services or nursing. Required
  • Supervisory experience. Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent human relations and oral/written communications skills.
