Manager-Crisis Intervention Walk-In Centers - Days

Location: WellSpan Medical Group, Gettysburg, PA
Schedule: Full Time

Full-time (80 hours biweekly)

Weekdays, daytime hours

  • Oversight of (2) 24/7 programs in York and Gettysburg
  • Some on-call coverage

General Summary

Oversees and coordinates the operations of Behavioral Health Crisis Walk-In Centers to ensure the delivery of 24/7 crisis intervention, treatment, and support for individuals experiencing severe mental health symptoms and substance use disorders. Provides direct clinical care and evaluates staff performance to maintain service excellence, while supporting compliance with budgeting and regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees the development, coordination, and implementation of programming and daily operations for Behavioral Health Crisis Walk-In Centers.
  • Schedules staff to ensure adequate coverage across all shifts, including day, evening, weekend, holiday, and on-call hours.
  • Leads recruitment, interviewing, hiring, termination, and assignment of staff roles; develops and implements orientation and training programs.
  • Provides leadership and oversight for the 24/7 operation of crisis walk-in services, ensuring continuity and quality of care.
  • Delivers direct clinical services including crisis intervention, treatment, and discharge coordination for individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies.
  • Collaborates with the Nurse Manager to coordinate patient care and with internal staff and external partners to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Compiles and analyzes data to prepare scheduled and ad hoc reports, including program evaluations and regulatory submissions.
  • Develops and monitors program budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with funding requirements.
  • Partners with internal departments, external programs, and organizational leadership to improve systems, processes, and service delivery.
  • Participates in organizational committees, task forces, and strategic planning initiatives to support continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Supports a culture of safety and collaboration by modeling safe practices, participating in daily team huddles, and fostering teamwork among staff.
  • Ensures compliance with organizational, state, and federal policies by contributing to the development and revision of departmental procedures and supporting accreditation standards.

Travel Requirements:

  • Estimated Amount: 5% - Travel required to attend stakeholder meetings and other off-site engagements as appropriate.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work or related field of study required

Work Experience:

  • 3 years' experience in behavioral health required
  • 2 years' experience in leadership preferred

Licenses:

  • Licensed Professional Counselor within 2 years required or
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist within 2 years required or
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker within 2 years required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and oral/written communication skills to effectively engage with patients, staff, and community partners.
  • Leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills to manage clinical operations and guide staff performance.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques to ensure safe and effective client care across age groups.
  • Ability to apply Lean methodology to design, implement, and monitor performance and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work under stress and adapt to moderate physical demands in a fast-paced, 24/7 crisis care environment.
