Innovation Operations Ventures Analyst

General Summary

Performs analytical and operational duties to support venture and innovation initiatives across the organization. Responsible for providing financial, operational, and analytical support for venture and project related activities including budgeting, financial tracking, invoicing, return on investment (ROI) analysis, and portfolio performance monitoring. Collaborates with innovation leadership, finance teams, and internal stakeholders to support the financial planning, operational management, and evaluation of venture initiatives. Assists in maintaining financial visibility across the venture portfolio and innovation projects. Supports the development of reporting and analytics that inform strategic decision making. Provides analysis, reporting, and operational coordination to ensure venture and innovation initiatives are financially managed, tracked, and evaluated in alignment with organizational goals and strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Supports the financial management of venture and innovation initiatives by assisting in development, monitoring, and tracking of project budgets and financial performance.
  • Prepares financial models and analyses to evaluate the expected and realized return on investment (ROI) of venture initiatives, pilots, and strategic partnerships.
  • Maintains financial tracking tools and reports that provide visibility into departmental expenses, venture initiative budgets, and overall portfolio financial performance.
  • Assists in the preparation of business cases and financial analyses to support evaluation of new venture opportunities, pilots, and innovation investments.
  • Coordinates invoicing processes, ensuring invoices are reviewed, validated, and submitted in accordance with organizational financial procedures and contractual agreements.
  • Tracks venture-related expenditures and works with finance partners to ensure appropriate coding, reporting, and reconciliation of expenses.
  • Conducts financial and operational analysis to support ongoing evaluation of venture portfolio initiatives and inform prioritization decisions.
  • Supports the development and management of the department's annual operating budget by assisting in the preparation of budget forecasts, financial projections, and supporting documentation.
  • Monitors departmental spending against budget allocations, identifying variances and assisting leadership in maintaining alignment with approved financial plans.
  • Works with cross-functional teams including finance, legal, operations, and innovation staff to ensure financial processes and reporting are aligned with organizational policies and requirements.
  • Supports preparation of presentations and reporting materials for leadership review of venture portfolio performance, investment outcomes, and departmental initiatives.
  • Maintains organized records and documentation related to venture investments, contracts, budgets, and financial reporting.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Degree Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics, or related field. Required

Work Experience:

  • 4 years Experience in business analysis, financial analysis, operations analysis, venture support, or related analytical role. Required
  • 6 years Experience in business analysis, financial analysis, operations analysis, venture support, or related analytical role. Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong financial and analytical skills including budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet and financial modeling tools.
  • Ability to analyze financial and operational data and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while managing multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems, innovation programs, or venture initiatives preferred.
