Chief and Director of Psychology - Philhaven - Days

Location: WellSpan Health, Mount Gretna, PA
Schedule: Full Time

Full-time (80 hours biweekly)

General Summary

Provides professional/clinical leadership for the Psychology departments/discipline. In addition, provides leadership for various clinical, quality and regulatory processes in the organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Participate in leading, developing, and supporting processes that enhance and monitor clinical care, through participation and leadership in committees (e.g. quality, regulatory, safety, emerging practice, etc.)
  • Establish and enforce discipline-related standards of care. This includes participating in development and implementation of best practices for assessment and intervention, including evidence-based treatments.
  • Plan and lead discipline-related events aimed at strengthening staff engagement, retention related activities and recognition efforts.
  • Oversee and participates in recruitment, orientation, onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and supporting state licensure processes.
  • Provide leadership for staff development, including: Assessment of staff development needs, oversight of methods for developing staff competencies, planning and support of professional training/development and oversight and development of discipline peer review process.
  • Oversee quality of psychology training programs, collaborating with Senior Directors and other leaders. This includes: supervising Doctoral Psychology Internship and Psychology Residency Directors, collaborating with training program directors to ensure proper qualifications and licensure for program training supervisors, appropriate and sufficient training experiences for interns and residents, and compliance with accrediting bodies and state standards.
  • Participates in trainee recruitment and clinical supervision processes as needed.
  • Engage in discipline problem solving and support, including: Oversight of discipline-related problems and concerns, support of staff as needed, and participation in addressing staff performance issues, as indicated.
  • Support psychology department/discipline-related functions and associated leaders (screening and assessment, psychological evaluation and testing, treatment planning, outcomes, education, family involvement, discharge, and handoff processes, etc.).
  • Participate in Strategic Planning processes, including development and implementation of efforts to meet organizational and community needs.
  • Participate in Medical Staff processes (meetings, projects, OPPE, FPPE, credentialing, privileging, etc.).
  • Provide support to Chief Medical Officer as requested.
  • Collaborate with and support Senior Directors and Level of Care Directors as requested.

  • Provide outstanding service to all customers; foster teamwork; and practice fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

Minimum Education:

  • Doctorate Doctoral degree from psychology educational program, completion of a one-year doctoral psychology internship program required

Work Experience:

  • 5 years Clinical work experience in the field post-licensure, including demonstration of leadership ability and attainment of knowledge in discipline ethics, licensure processes, regulatory/legal issues, best practices, etc. required

Licenses:

  • Licensed Psychologist Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • Must be current with professional continuing education requirements to maintain licensure and professional competency, upon hire required
