Workforce Advisor Senior

Location: WellSpan Health, York, PA
Schedule: Full Time

General Summary

Works to improve staffing and resource utilization as well as oversee position management and approval processes. Supports the system Workforce Management Committee and oversees the related work to ensure an efficient and effective labor management process consistent with the goals of the organization, ensuring WellSpan is providing quality care that is sustainable. Works in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with high visibility with senior leadership, therefore accuracy and attention to detail is extremely important. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to support this work.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Supports and participates on the Workforce Management Committee by developing, implementing, and communicating process standard work, meeting agenda preparation, and request follow-up. Reviews and monitors request submissions in advance to ensure they meet all standards.
  • Supports and works closely with leaders who are requesting items to be reviewed by the committee including: answering process question, reviewing budgets and productivity data, and question follow-up.
  • Assesses financial and operational impact of position requests to inform decision making.
  • Provide analytics and develops processes to manage productivity and labor utilization across the system.
  • Partners with leaders across the system to understand productivity and develop operations to ensure resources are utilized effectively.
  • Assist in identifying opportunity and identifying recommendations to impact staffing and care models.
  • Supports leaders in the implementation of recommendations using lean principles.
  • Coaches and develops leaders across the organization to assess and manage productivity and labor utilization.
  • Develops and generates appropriate reports and analytics for the Workforce Management Committee, Stewardship Committee, and Senior Leadership related to Workforce Management, productivity, and FTE budget measurements.
  • Assists with and utilizes productivity software, budgeting software, and Talent Acquisition Applicant Tracking System to summarize statistics related to labor management including contract labor usage across the health system.
  • Works with controllers, operational leaders, and system finance leaders to address questions related to labor needs and productivity targets.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Degree In Finance, Health Care Management, Business, Clinical Management, Engineering or related fields. Required
  • Masters Degree In area of expertise. Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 3 years Of operations, finance, or accounting experience in a heavy analytics position. Required
  • Healthcare industry knowledge and experience. Preferred and
  • Experience with productivity and labor management. Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical, advanced level problem solving, communication, and presentation skills required.
  • Proficient in typical finance and budgeting systems, computer skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel.
  • Excellent customer service skills (external and/or internal).
  • Displays cooperation and performs as a team player.
  • Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to use time effectively and efficiently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and continuously changing environment.
  • Ability to achieve results.
  • Ability to work well independently with limited direction.
