Team Leader Custodian Certified - Environmental Services - Nights

Location: Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, PA
Schedule: Full Time

Full time (80 hours biweekly)

Monday - Friday 10:00pm-6:30am

On-call, weekend and holiday rotation

General Summary

Performs a variety of general and specialized cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas of the hospital. Assists in the environmental services department as needed to lift, move, and relocate furniture, furnishings, equipment, etc. May serve as a working Lead on an as-needed basis.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Performs duties of the Environmental Services Technician I and the Environmental Services Technician II.
  • Trains employees on all duties outlined in the Environmental Services Technician I and Environmental Services Technician II positions and day-to-day procedures.
  • Performs routine inspections of the work of the Environmental Services Technicians.
  • Instructs personnel on the use of new equipment, cleaning techniques/methods, and cleaning agents.
  • Performs various general cleaning tasks to maintain offices, hallways, and other assigned areas.
  • Assists the supervisor in coordinating and scheduling environmental services projects.
  • Assists the supervisor with input for performance evaluations.
  • Consults with other trainers, managers, and leadership.
  • Tracks and compiles collected data.
  • Reviews employee performance and learning.

Common Expectations:

  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
  • Attends meetings as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 3 years In Environmental Services Technician II position. Required

Licenses:

  • Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician within 1 year Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to read, write, understand and speak English at a level that enables the individual to perform the functions of the job satisfactorily.
