Supervisor-Rehabilitation Medicine-Therapist- Surgery and Rehab Hospital (Outpatient)- Day/Evening

Location: WellSpan Surgery and Rehabilitation Hospital, York, PA
Schedule: Full Time

Occupational Therapist Required

Full time (80 hours biweekly)

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm , two days 10A-6:30P

Must work at least 2 weekend days/quarter and at least 1 holiday/year

Includes cross-training in post-surgical and inpatient rehabilitation settings at WSRH

General Summary

Assists in managing the daily clinical operations of the speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, or physical therapy department. Facilitates program development and provides therapy services.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures the delivery of quality therapy services for inpatients and outpatients by identifying patient needs and developing quality therapy programs.
  • Analyzes and recommends changes for improvement in program content.
  • Assists in formulating and screening Quality Assurance criteria and providing in-service training for staff.
  • Consults with medical, nursing, and administrative staff on a regular basis to coordinate patient care.
  • Develops treatment plans for patients. Monitors progress and treatment level.
  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of therapists in carrying out treatment programs for patients.
  • Directs and develops approved procedures for therapy.
  • Identifies appropriate treatment goals and the type of remedial activity to be used.
  • Performs duties of a therapist as required.

Common Expectations:

  • Assists in selecting staff, trains/orients personnel, evaluates performance, prepares work schedules and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Assists in developing budgets.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment. Provides direct patient care to assigned patient age group(s).
  • Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports, and other such reports.
  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
  • Responsible for the care and maintenance of department/entity equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Masters Degree Required

Work Experience:

  • 6 years Relevant experience. Required and
  • Supervisory experience. Required

Licenses:

  • Licensed Physical Therapist Upon Hire Required or
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist Upon Hire Required or
  • Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist Upon Hire Required or
  • Licensed Audiologist Upon Hire Required and
  • Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • Graduate of an accredited program in physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech-language pathology. Upon Hire Required
