Position Summary:

General Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Pharmacy Quality Coordinator and/or Manager-Pharmacy Quality Assessment, assists with Pharmacy related performance improvement and patient medication safety activities. Performs a variety of pharmacy data collection, including organizing and managing collected data, as well as summarizing and presenting data collection to Pharmacy leadership. Routinely monitors audits, particularly related to the detection of drug diversion, and updates as required. Understands various information systems used for data collection.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Routinely conducts monthly pharmacy workload statistics as required by the Pharmacy Operations Manager. Organizes and manages biannual shift workload statistics.
2 Organizes and manages monthly reports related to medication safety and medication related National Patient Safety Goals.
3 Conducts monthly audits specific to the prevention and detection of drug diversion. This includes but is not limited to, nursing units, select groups, Anesthesia intraoperative, procedural areas, as well as individual audits as needed.
4 Summarize reports of the Safety Reporting System for Medication/Fluid events and Adverse Drug Events.
5 Monitors and reports weekly, monthly and biannual reports for the sterile compounding for the Operations Coordinator for USP 797 compliance.
6 Organizes biannual required reporting of System Adverse Drug events to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
7 Prepares specialized reports as requested including, but not limited to, reconciling the electronic health record medication dispensing, administration and waste documentation to other information system data collection.

Required Skills

Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training with emphasis on Healthcare Science/Technology

Required Experience

3 - 5 years experience , with Healthcare application or technology 
Allied Health/Healthcare experience, computer science with Healthcare Data.
Excellent communication and analytic skills
Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
Excellent computer skills including spreadsheet
Knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to work independently to analyze results and distribute information appropriately
Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
