Job Description:

Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of administrative, operational and fiscal functions including, but not limited to, operations, budget, revenue and financial management, personnel, purchasing and general administrative services, to ensure successful operation of the Hospital. Has oversight for several different departmental areas and functions including but not limited to clinical services (e.g., pharmacy, laboratory, imaging and respiratory) and/or support services (e.g., housekeeping, dietary, engineering) and will also include hospital wide project oversight. Successful leadership will demonstrate results in performance improvement, employee engagement, patient safety, patient experience and stewardship. Serves as a role model in the aforementioned areas.


Duties and Responsibilities


  1. Provides leadership direction and oversight to non-nursing clinical and/or ancillary departments of Hospital.
  2. Participates in the development, coordination and administrative support of strategic and operational plans for the areas of responsibility.
  3. Collaborates with System resources and leadership to ensure alignment and shared responsibility where appropriate.
  4. Monitors program activities and appropriate participation, recording and reporting statistical data, including financial data, to determine levels of participation and identify areas for improvement.
  5. Ensures the efficient, economic and quality performance of assigned departments/areas of responsibility to support or provide quality health care services.
  6. Ensures the provision of affordable health care services by the acquisition, utilization and organization of available resources and the development of improved techniques and practices.
  7. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies by continually monitoring operations and its programs and physical properties and initiating changes where required.
  8. Responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of systems that support the delivery of patient care; the quality of patient care across the Hospital for all disciplines and the achievement of quality patient outcomes.
  9. Participates with leaders from the governing body, management, physician staff and clinical areas in decision-making structures and processes.
  10. As a member of the Operations Leadership Team, assists in the development and preparation of the Hospital budget. Allocates funds and ensures areas operate within budget.
  11. Performs financial analysis, revenue management and business planning for all associated services within the clinical and/or ancillary departments.



5 - 8 years of healthcare operation leadership

Master's Degree preferably in a business related field

Excellent communication, interpersonal, managerial and computer skills
