Senior Director-Human Resources (WellSpan York Hospital)


Job Description:

Under the general direction of the Vice President-Human Resources, and in support of the regional Senior Vice President and regional leadership team, provides Human Resources leadership and consultation to an assigned region. Develops appropriate Human Resources strategies in support of the goals and objectives of the region. Consults on complex employee relations matters, drives employee engagement, provides planning, information and advice on Human Resources topics (e.g., compensation, benefits, recruitment, Human Resources policies and procedures, etc.), and serves as a conduit to the corporate Human Resources Centers of Excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Consults with regional and entity leaders to develop and align human resources strategy within the region.

Models and drives regional and system thinking and standardization.

Develops and executes on entity/regional People Plans to address the Human Resources needs of the region. Recommends, develops, and implements human resources related programs to drive organizational capabilities to meet the goals and objectives of the region.

Provides guidance and expertise to employees and management in resolving complex Human Resources issues.

Along with the Regional Senior Vice President and other key stakeholders, monitors and continuously works to elevate the strength of leadership within the region.

Ensures compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements related to Human Resources activities. Serves as the regional resource for the Human Resources components of all accreditation efforts.

Manages the Human Resources services of the organization in an effective manner by reducing risk and preventing litigation or costly employee relations claims.

Provides direct supervision to Human Resources Directors and Human Resources Business Partners.

Provide matrixed leadership, direction, and support to regional Human Resources (Talent Acquisition, Organizational Learning and Development, etc.) support resources.

Participates in committee meetings as required. Attends and serves on professional/civic service organizations as System representative.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Experience: 10 years progressive Human Resources experience in large and complex healthcare delivery systems.
  • Minimum Education:  Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred Education:  Master’s Degree
