General Summary:


Under the general supervision of the Project One Technical Director, effectively manages application analysts assigned to the security workgroup, understands Epic's security infrastructure and provisions security for users. Regulates access to computer data files and the Epic applications. Protects data integrity with user authorization and other utilities. Provides support to users of the system by ascertaining their access needs and implementing appropriate procedures to meet them. Provides second level problem resolution, staff training and quality monitoring.


Duties and Responsibilities:


1 Trains staff in relation to Identity Management tasks, determining need for written procedures and establishing workflows.
2 Participates in developing standards, procedures and guidelines relative to granting user access to data, files and applications.
3 Coordinates security-related activity across physical (buildings, grounds), infrastructure (network, servers, operating system) and application (Epic or non-Epic) teams
4 Participates in periodic/perpetual audits as directed.
5 Interfaces with other IS areas in the design to assist with the definition of user access requirements. Performs consulting function for new account provisioning needs relating to applications and systems to ensure best practices for account provisioning are met.
6 Provides advanced problem resolution abilities in order resolve access issues on a variety of systems and applications.
7 Creates user records and maps them to templates built by application coordinators/analysts
8 Administers the logical security activities by maintaining user accounts and access rules. Provides and regulates access to computer data files.
9 Educates users to ensure user awareness and their responsibilities to safeguard their account information.
10 Understands the Epic software security structures, including user profiles, roles, and security classes

Required Skills

Minimum Education:             

Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.



Minimum Experience:          

5 or more years of experience in Access & Identity Management with various operating systems and applications.

Knowledge of IT access control systems

Experience developing and updating policies and procedures

Previous experience working with Epic security Structures (Preferred) 

Data Courier Management experience (Preferred)



Min Field Of Expertise:        

Computer science or technically related field




Applicable Epic Certification(s) for application(s) supported must be achieved within 6 months of hire date




Other Excellent technical communication & troubleshooting skills; Knowledge of general security practices
