Position Summary:

General Summary:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of tests and studies related to the diagnosis and treatment of sleep-related

breathing disorders according to established standards and practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

   1  Schedules, performs and evaluates the technical validity of overnight sleep studies, nocturnal pulse oximetry, and other

      related studies.

   2  Sets up and applies polysomnographic monitoring devices, ensuring patient safety and accurate test results.

   3  Provides summary analysis/reports of all polysomnographic studies for physician review.

   4  Instructs patient in the home use of therapeutic devices.

   5  Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient

      population. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment. Provides

      direct patient care to assigned patient age group(s).

   6  Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control

      standards.

   7  Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.

   8  Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement

      and innovation.

 

 

Required Skills

 Minimum Education    

Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training

Preferred Education 

Associate's Degree

1 - 2 years as a Registered Sleep Technologist

Req Cert/Registration

Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) in PA; CPR certification 

There may be opportunity's to work at other WellSpan Sleep Center's.  

There may be an opportunity to train the right candidate who expresses an interest in sleep disorder testing and has a health degree background.
