Psychiatric Technician II - Philhaven - Lancaster Child/Adolescent Day Hospital - FT Days

General Summary:

Performs a variety of patient care, case management, and therapeutic functions within the Child/Adolescent Day Hospital Program. Assists in organizing and implementing the treatment and milieu structure for patients in the program. Provides transportation in a Philhaven vehicle to and from the Day Hospital program for clients that meet requirements and are in need of transportation.


Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Transports clients to and from program

2 Assists treatment team members in planning and leading therapeutic groups and other activities

3 Responds promptly and skillfully to limit potentially unsafe client behaviors

4 Recognizes changes and unsafe conditions in the milieu and collaborates with the program nurse to implement prompt, therapeutic interventions

5 Establishes therapeutic relationships with clients and aids and supports clients in controlling and modifying their behaviors.

6 Maintains an awareness of clients' rights and hospital standards of care

7 Writes progress notes

8 Documents clients' functioning, response to treatment, and behavioral changes

9 Assists with admission paperwork such as releases of information and chart preparation

10 Assists with general secretarial duties such as answering phones, transferring calls, filing, faxing, and copying

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or human services related field required. 


• Two years of experience in child and adolescent and or adult psychiatric treatment preferred.


• Valid driver's license
