Position Summary:

General Summary:


Under general supervision, provides and coordinates treatment and services to psychiatric patients.


Duties and Responsibilities:


1 Interviews patients and family members to obtain information about home environment, family relationships, health history, and patient's personality traits.
2 Administers medications.
3 Coordinates care of assigned patients.
4 Conducts individual or group therapy sessions. Assesses patients' progress and modifies or extends treatment program accordingly.
5 Documents current, accurate observations of care to the patient in appropriate records.
6 Provides health care instruction/education to patient and family members.
7 Provides medication checks


Required Skills
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Pennsylvania. Certification in psychiatric mental health nursing is recommended.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric nursing care that is normally acquired in at least one year of mental health work experience. Must be trained and able to implement Therapeutic Crisis Intervention principles.
