Project Manager- Human Capital Management - Portfolio

Job Description:

Under supervision of the Director HCM Operations works with System entities to promote the successful intake, prioritization, resource allocation, approval, planning, and execution of Human Capital Management projects. Maintains comprehensive Project Portfolio ensuring each project has clearly defined scope, business justification, resource requirements, delivery dates, and benefit realization metrics defined. Facilitates project prioritization and road-mapping by engagement of HCM and System leadership and through various committees and ensures that each project is managed to an agreed upon work plan. Drives post-project benefit realization reporting to facilitate organizational learning and future resource allocation. Maintains, updates, and evolves policies and procedures of the HCM Project Management Office.


Duties and Responsibilities


  1. Coordinates the strategic development, prioritization, operational planning and implementation of a portfolio of projects throughout the System where HCM resources (people, data, processes, etc.) are a project requirement.
  2. Recognizes and identifies potential areas for improvements to existing definitions, processes, policies, and procedures and proposes/updates standard work accordingly.
  3. Ensures all projects have clearly defined scope, business justification, accurate resource requirement estimates, timelines, and success metrics.
  4. Negotiates the scope and approach, and acts as liaison between appropriate groups/individuals and vendors/contractors.
  5. Ensures all projects are managed to completion according to an approved, agreed upon work (project) plan and budget. Assist staff functioning as PM to assure execution of projects within system governance and change control.
  6. Monitors and reports operations of the HCM Project Management Office to facilitate efficient and effective project management and alert leadership of mismatches between Project resourcing and System needs.
  7. Ensures all work and documentation meet appropriate department/service line/project standards.
  8. Tracks, identifies, resolves and reports project and portfolio issues.
  9. Keeps management apprised of project and portfolio health, risks, limitations or need for change/intervention.
  10. Establishes and maintains, or insures, communication of project and portfolio status to all stakeholders to facilitate effective business-related planning during all phases of project planning and execution.

    • Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered.
    • This can be a fully remote position.


  • Minimum Experience:
    • More than 8 years of Project Management experience
    • Experience with Human Capital Management  preferred
    • Any ERP experience a major plus


  • Min Field of Expertise: Project Management with Healthcare focus or related administrative expertise


  • Minimum Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree, Project Management Professional Certification preferred or equivalent
