General Summary

Participates in residency training designed to prepare for the independent practice as a clinical pharmacist in a variety of settings. Participates in selection, preparation, and timely distribution of medications to ensure optimal patient care. Essential Functions:

  • Ensures therapeutic optimization of medication regimens while participating on interdisciplinary care rounds.
  • Performs antimicrobial stewardship monitoring.
  • Completes pharmacokinetic, anticoagulant, and TPN consultations independently.
  • Assists in code response and trauma resuscitations when assigned to each responsibility.
  • Creates and implements evidence-based protocols.
  • Performs -monthly patient case and quarterly journal club presentations.
  • Completes two residency research projects throughout the year.
  • Precepts IPPE and APPE pharmacy students.
  • Assists in the education of nurses, pharmacy and medical students, and residents.
  • Serves as editor and contributing author to the monthly Pharmacy Forum newsletter.
  • Attends teaching conferences, lectures and rounds on a regular basis.
  • Completes and maintains documentation as appropriate.
  • Participates in simulation lab for medical emergencies when assigned.
  • Staffs the central inpatient pharmacy every fourth weekend and one five-hour evening shift a week.

  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through optimization of medication regimens.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Doctorate Doctor Of Pharmacy Required or
  • Bachelors Degree Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Required

Licenses:

  • Licensed Registered Pharmacist within 120 days Required

Courses and Training:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy. Upon Hire Required
