Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Director -Food and Nutrition Services, supervises the overall operations of the patient food service, including tray service, dish room and nourishment area. Schedules and supervises the work activities of Food Services staff.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Supervises food service operation, tray preparation and delivery to patients.
  2. Supervises nourishments, supply and dish room operations. Ensures that standards of quality, hygiene and efficiency are met.
  3. Assists with catering and special functions.
  4. Organizes, directs, supervises, and assigns staff workers in various areas of Food Services. Orients, trains, guides and instructs as necessary.
  5. Ensures that all policies and procedures are maintained including operations and personnel.
  6. Ensures that required HACCP guidelines are maintained throughout the food preparation process.
  7. Assists in selecting, training, orienting and evaluating staff. Prepares work schedules and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
  8. Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  9. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings, and workshops.
  10. Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 2 - 3 years
  • Minimum Education:
    • Associate's Degree in Food Service or Business Management
  • Minimum Field Of Expertise:
    • Knowledge of food preparation, service and food service management.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Frequent prolonged standing/walking
    • Lifts supplies/equipment
