Job Description:
Under the direct supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, conducts specific treatment programs for individual patients at an entry to intermediate level.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Carries out a program of routine motor activities and activities of daily living for assigned patients, as determined by evaluation performed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Assists the Occupational Therapist in administering specified portions of the standard evaluations and elicits information regarding existing skills and capacities, according to the rules and regulations of the AOTA and POTA.
- Coordinates occupational therapy activities in collaboration with the other members of the interdisciplinary team to facilitate achievement of established g.
- Ensures compliance with regulations set forth by the regulatory agencies and state governing bodies.
- Conducts or participates in training medical and nursing personnel in occupational therapy techniques and o.
- Utilizes safe patient handling techniques for all patient transfers, lifts and positioning.
- Complies with PA practice act related to communication with supervising Occupational Therapist.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from an accredited occupational therapist assistant program
- Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant; BLS certification
- Up to 6 months experience required
