Advanced Cardiac Imaging

WellSpan Cardiology-York, PA

We are seeking an advanced imaging fellowship-trained cardiologist with an interest in focusing on cardiac MRI, cardiac CT and ideally cardiac PET to join our large, thriving multidisciplinary practice. This is an opportunity to join an innovative and well-respected group.

About the advanced imaging program

  • Busy cardiac CT and cardiac MRI programs with dedicated reading time.
  • Complex cases with two level III readers for support who can help mentor a new trainee.
  • Non-RVU based contract for advanced imaging.
  • State of the art cardiac CT scanner (Siemens Naeotom Alpha photon counting CT) with plans to add new Siemens Sola Cardiac Edition MRI scanner.
  • Enthusiastic support from EP, interventional cardiology, advanced heart failure and general noninvasive colleagues.

  • Non-invasive call is approximately 1:15 weekdays
  • Weekend coverage occurs every 3 months
  • York Hospital is a 579-bed teaching hospital & Level I trauma center
  • Newly accredited Cardiology Fellowship will welcome its first class in 2024
  • The group includes recognized experts in EP, Adv. HF, CTO & TAVR

Specific Features of the Advanced Imaging program

CT:

  • 4 D CT in the cath lab, to my knowledge we are the only site in the country that does intraprocedural CTs for watchman (immediately post deployment).
  • Siemens Naeotom photon counting CT scheduled to go live March 2024.
  • At this time we do approximately 2500 CTs a year including coronaries, structural, and procedural planning we expect this volume to double with the new outpatient CT.
  • Dedicated techs for cardiovascular CT

MRI:

  • Busy CMR program with approximately 1000 - 1200 MRIs done a year.
  • Full cardiac package with T1, T2, T2* maps, 4 D flows.
  • 1.5 T and 3 T magnets available. Phillips Achieva 1.5 T, Ingenia 3T, A Siemens Sola Cardiac Edition is anticipated in the future.
  • Wide variety of cases - stress perfusion, viability, masses, cardiomyopathies, valvular cases etc.
  • Mature CMR program with well-trained techs.

PET/ Nuclear:

  • Stress PET/ SPECT, full package including flows. Siemens Biograph horizon
  • Study types - Sarcoid (FDG), Stress PET.

Echocardiography/ Structural Heart:

  • Busy structural program - TEER, TMVR, TAVR, Watchman, Amulet.
  • Busy TEE program with TTE.

Software:

  • MRI - Circle, ADAS for scar.
  • CT - Terrarecon, Intellispace portal, 3 Mensio, Truplan.
  • Echo - Phillips, CUPID for structured reporting.
  • Nuclear - Both 4 DM SPECT and Cedars Sinai available.
  • Heartflow and Cleerly soon to come.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required or
  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required

Licenses:

  • Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required or
  • Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • Board Certified in Cardiology, or in-process of sitting for exam BC/BE licensable in the state of PA. Upon Hire Required and
  • Completed Fellowship in Cardiovascular Care. Upon Hire Required
