General Summary:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of neurodiagnostic studies to include EEG, evoked potentials and specialized studies in the EEG laboratory and the Operating Rooms, according to established standards and practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Performs all modalities of evoked potentials with high quality results in the laboratory, intensive care units and operating rooms.
2 Performs EEG/EP recordings during neurosurgical intraoperative studies, and advanced recordings during special studies. Performs long term epilepsy monitoring.
3 Assists with, or performs clinical research procedures as directed.
4 Performs standard and complex EEG-evoked potential recordings as ordered by physician.
5 Prepares the patient, explains the procedure and ensures patient's cooperation during the examination.
6 Selects predetermined electrode combinations as well as special combinations made necessary by the case under study.
7 Applies suitable electrodes on predetermined measured positions on the patient's head and checks their performance.
8 Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results,
individualized treatment plans, progress reports, and other such reports.
9 Prepares preliminary reports addressed to the patient's physician.
