Medical Assistant - Radiation Oncology - Days

Full Time (80 Hours Biweekly)
Day Shift (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)
Job Description:
Under the general supervision of licensed healthcare professionals, provides safe, therapeutic and efficient care and services to patients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Obtains and documents patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, weight, respiration and pulse.
- Receives or collects specimens and labels them appropriately; discards them after test or stores for future reference.
- Prepares patients for scheduled procedures to assist in patient assessment.
- Arranges for patient’s ordered diagnostic and therapeutic services.
- Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
Qualifications:
- Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered
- Minimum Education - Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training
- Minimum Experience - 6 months
- Required Certification/Registration - Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Preferred Certification/Registration - Certification as a Medical Assistant by an accredited certifying body
- Required Course(s)/Training - Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited school
- Skills -
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to effectively present clinical information to the care team
- Proficient in navigating and entering information into an electronic health record
- Models teamwork; self-motivated and dependable
- Must be able to work independently
