Part Time Day/Evening
Two 8-hour shifts on either day or evenings, potential for weekend shifts
Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the department supervisor and the direction of the Radiologist, performs routine screening and diagnostic mammography procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs mammography; obtains patient history; explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns.
- Under the direction of a Team Leader, is responsible for assisting in the training of other technologists, certifying that techs meet competencies.
- Positions patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.
- Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
- Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
- Prepares, maintains and scans appropriate documentation required by the department.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Experience:
- 5 years of mammography experience
- Minimum Education:
- Associate's Degree
- Required Certification:
- ARRT with mammography certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ISCD CBDT certification required if required to perform bone densitometry exams
- Required Courses:
- Accredited program in radiologic technology and training in mammography procedures
- Physical Demands:
- Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking
- Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients
- Lifts supplies/equipment
