Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the department supervisor and the direction of the Radiologist, performs routine and special mammography procedures according to established practices and procedures.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Performs mammography studies; obtains patient history; explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns.
  2. Under the direction of a Team Leader, is responsible for training other technicians/technologists, certifying that techs meet competencies.
  3. Maintains department quality assurance program.
  4. Positions patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure.
  5. Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
  6. Schedule cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
  7. Performs the duties of Radiographer as needed.
 

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree from an Accredited program in radiologic technology and training in mammography procedures
  • ARRT with mammography certification required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • 3 - 5 years experience as a mammographer
