Job Description:

Under general supervision, assists in the maintenance and productivity of learning applications. Explores new learning application technologies that will support organizational strategies, vision and goals. Provides analytical support of a variety of learning applications to support the business strategies, strategic vision and goals of the System. Creates, expands and/or modifies system implementations as required to support creation and maintenance of learning applications. Assists in the planning, implementation and evaluation of learning applications and the use of technology in education across the organization.


Duties and Responsibilities


  1. Creates, modifies, and maintains learning applications in support of enterprise strategies and objectives.
  2. Contributes to enterprise learning application implementations.
  3. Understands data structure modeling and applies that knowledge to generate solution for our clients.
  4. Explores learning application functionality for which a need has been identified. This includes cost analysis (if applicable); negative and positive impact of implementing functionality; and setting up demonstrations for targeted staff.
  5. Manages learning application patches, upgrades, and implementations including: attending client/vendor announcement meetings; determining impact of changes; recommending changes to current processes; testing to include developing test plans and scripts, assigning test tasks to team as needed, tracking quality issues and risks, reporting variances, and participating in the decision to proceed based on testing results; and communicating changes to impacted users.
  6. Coordinates modifications needed to learning application processes when patches and upgrades occur.
  7. Coordinates the redesign of learning applications user interface as needed including; setting up demonstrations to targeted users to gather feedback; and communicating final changes to impacted users.
  8. Develops and delivers learning applications training, as needed.
  9. Assists in the support of help desk calls and group emails related to learning applications as well as escalating issues unable to be resolved by the department to the learning applications vendor or WellSpan Information Services for investigation.
  10. Recognizes opportunities to link learning applications to ensure consistency in the access of learning for users, while utilizing various applications.
  11. Manages security roles and user set up in the learning applications.
  12. Assists with learning applications process improvement analysis and implementation.
  13. Coordinates with Desktop Services staff to remain up to date on hardware/software standards as well as currently supported hardware. Uses this knowledge to ensure that changes will not negatively impact learning applications.
  14. Contributes to department and team goal planning and participates, as needed, in meeting the defined goals.

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 3 - 5 years


  • Minimum Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree with Information Technology and/or Education emphasis


  • Minimum Field Of Expertise:
    • Computer Science/Information Systems/Education/Learning Applications


  • Skills:
    • Practical experience with Learning Applications/Technologies, such as LMS preferred. Team focused and able to multi-task effectively; Background in adult learning theory/training; Proficient in desktop applications; Knowledge of SCORM, HTML and LMS’s; Strong communications and project management skill
