Position Summary:

General Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Infrastructure Manager-IT Operations, directs IT disaster response/crisis management activities in compliance with the IT disaster recovery plans and helps provide and coordinate disaster preparedness training with respect to the organization's information technologies, helping ensure business continuity. Coordinates the development, review, and update of the disaster recovery (DR) plan, which includes documentation for DR governance, procedures to maintain continuous DR technical readiness, run books for fail-over and return-to-normal in the event of a disruption to the computer systems. Provides coordination, support and maintenance activities for Disaster and Operational Recovery inventory and plan repository systems and related support tools. Assists in selecting and evaluating disaster recovery staff. Trains new team members.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Partners with IT teams within the organization to develop programs and look at resources that are necessary for technical recovery (such as offsite data storage).
2 Responsible for the development and testing of plans to ensure recovery, security and integrity of company data, databases, information systems and technology systems.
3 Influences the development and strategic implementation of policies, procedures, plans and programs to ensure the business is positioned to recover from a disaster to meet regulatory compliance requirements using industry best practices.
4 Monitors the information technology change management process and DR technology maintenance processes to help ensure that DR capabilities are in a continuous state of readiness.
5 Delivers Disaster Recovery program awareness sessions to various levels across the organization. Serves as an advisor to other department members.
6 Coordinates with the IT applications and technical staff to ensure that disaster recovery solutions are adequate, in place and maintained.
7 Performs duties as the primary point-of-contact to the DR partners, including third-party vendors and other IT groups.
8 Trains and orients new disaster recovery staff. Trains team on procedures and disaster recovery. Assists supervisor in selecting and evaluating disaster recovery staff.
9 Acts as liaison for auditing and examination of disaster recovery processes.
10 Participates in all disaster recovery exercises as part of the operational life-cycle.
11 Helps ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and ordinances.
12 Participates in vendor selection, implementation, training, administration and support of Emergency Communication and Disaster Recovery Management software applications.
13 Develops post exercise report and assists in developing remediation plans for identified exceptions, working with control owners to ensure all exceptions are remediated in a timely manner.
14 Develops and produces program key performance indicators, metrics and reports that reflect overall health and viability of disaster recovery capabilities.
15 Regularly reports Disaster Recovery activities to management.
16 Works with the business users and application support teams to establish Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity recovery priorities for applications.
