General Summary

Provides general surgical services to patients.

WellSpan Medical Group is seeking a BE/BC General Surgeon to join WellSpan Surgical Specialists-Chambersburg. WellSpan Health is a nationally recognized, integrated health system that serves twelve counties. Our strategy is team-based and focused on patient safety, quality, and physician well-being.

Position Highlights:

  • Join an experienced & collegial team of 6 physicians.
  • 3 Advanced Practice Providers work collaboratively with the surgeons.
  • Chambersburg Hospital is a busy 274-bed hospital.
  • In addition to the hospital, the physicians operate at a state-of-the-art ASC.
  • Approximately 7,300 surgeries are performed each year.
  • The emergency department sees 54,000+ patients per year.
  • Call is taken from home, shared equally & allows for work/life balance.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required or
  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required

Licenses:

  • Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required or
  • Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery or the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery. Upon Hire Required and
  • Completion of a Surgery residency. Upon Hire Required and
  • Must qualify and be a member of the Medical Staff of the Hospital. Upon Hire Required
