Family Medicine Residency Program Director

General Summary

Oversees all patient care, administrative and medical education activities of the Family Practice Residency Program. Reviews the quality, adequacy and appropriateness of services within the program.

WellSpan Health is seeking a Residency Program Director for our established Family Medicine Residency at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon, PA. Our community-based program is fully accredited by the ACGME and has received Osteopathic Recognition.

WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital provides exceptional exposure to a diverse patient population. Our training sites serve both socially and medically complex populations in rural and urban settings. The program's teaching faculty is diverse and experienced. We have achieved a large number of national and international publications.

Core Areas of Responsibility:

  • Participation in Institutional Governance of Graduate Medical Education (GMEC and subcommittees)
  • ACGME Accreditation reports and annual updates
  • Educational and Administrative Oversight of the Program
  • Recruitment of Incoming Residents
  • Liaison Roles - Clinical, Administrative, Academic

Requirements:

  • Must be board certified by ABFM or AOBFM
  • Minimum of 5 years as family medicine residency core faculty
  • Minimum of 2 years as family medicine residency program director or associate program director or NIPDD or LEADS fellowship
  • PA License required

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required or
  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required

Licenses:

  • Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required or
  • Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice. Upon Hire Required and
  • Completion of a Family Practice residency. Upon Hire Required and
  • Must qualify and be a member of the Medical Staff of York Hospital. Upon Hire Required
