Job Description

 

Under the general supervision of the Senior Director-Community Health and the Executive Committee of the Healthy York County Coalition, provides overall management direction and coordination to the operation of the coalition, working to improve the health status and quality of life in York County.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

1 Directs daily operation of the coalition, its staff and facilities, and the development of its task forces.

2 Uses community data, quantitative research and other input to collaborate in development of a York County Community Health Assessment, which monitors health status and quality of life issues. Uses the report to plan future initiatives and to measure progress on current initiatives.

3 Plans, organizes and establishes collaborative task forces and committees to address identified community health/quality of life improvement needs.

4 Provides advice, coordination, direction and counsel to task force chairs and volunteers as needed.

5 Promotes Healthy York County Coalition to the community through regular presentations, interviews, news releases, community newsletters and the like.

6 Maintains fiscal oversight of the Coalition and provides appropriate reporting to the various committees and boards.

7 Researches and develops potential funding opportunities for the Healthy York County Coalition and its task forces, including grants from foundations, corporations, membership organizations, religious groups, public funding sources and individuals.

8 Communicates and maintains records including board meeting minutes, meeting attendance, board membership terms and other relevant information.

9 Builds and maintains positive relationships with community, business, government agencies, other public and private entities as well as Coalition members, York Hospital and WellSpan.

10 Develops and communicates Coalition plans and programs to the Hospital and to other internal and external groups, as necessary.

11 Work collaboratively with WellSpan Vice President-Community Health & Engagement, Director-Community Health and Wellness and the Executive Directors of other county health coalitions.

 

Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years public health or social service non-profit leadership
  • Managing applications and grant funding
  • Public or Business Administration, Public Health or related field
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Other Interest in social health issues.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to build consensus and work with diverse populations. Strong leadership and project management skills
