Employer Health Consultant

Location: WellSpan Health, Lewisburg, PA
Schedule: Full Time

General Summary

Drives new business growth and fosters strong relationships with employers, brokers, and community stakeholders throughout the WellSpan service area. This role combines business development with the creation of sales enablement resources, ensuring that employers receive both strategic consultation and seamless support. The Employer Health Consultant secures new business opportunities, advances WellSpan's visibility in the employer community, and develops customized solutions to meet employer needs while also creating sales tools, proposals, and reports that enable the team to achieve system-wide goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Generates new employer partnerships and achieves sales targets, while serving as the primary account manager to deliver sustained value, foster loyalty, and identify opportunities for continued growth.
  • Builds and maintains strong, trusted relationships with employers, brokers, consultants, and community leaders.
  • Actively represent WellSpan at business and community events to increase awareness and strengthen employer partnerships.
  • Conducts need assessments with employer prospects and delivers tailored solutions that align with organizational priorities.
  • Develops sales enablement resources, including presentations, proposals, and collateral, to advance new business growth and client engagement.
  • Manages responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) and prepare supporting documentation to advance sales opportunities.
  • Tracks and documents all sales, outreach, and employer interactions in the customer relationship management (CRM) system to evaluate effectiveness and ensure accountability.
  • Develops reports and dashboards that capture sales performance, market intelligence, and utilization trends; conduct utilization review meetings with employers to uncover cost-saving and health-improving opportunities and recommends WellSpan solutions that enhance the employer and employee experience.
  • Provides input on product development and service enhancements by capturing and communicating employer needs and market feedback.
  • Partners with internal teams to ensure seamless coordination of services and support for employer clients.
  • Plans and supports special events, webinars, and outreach activities that drive employer engagement with WellSpan services.
  • Serves as a resource to organizational leaders by providing market intelligence, sales tools, and insights that guide strategic planning.

  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

Travel Requirements:

  • Estimated Amount: 20% - Regional travel required.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • Masters Degree Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 5 years Experience in progressive business development, marketing, client/account management, healthcare sales, broker and vendor relationships and employer benefits or healthcare solutions. Required and
  • 5 years Experience in marketing/public relations/communications. Required

Driver's License Statement:

Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge in healthcare delivery systems, employer health and wellness solutions, employee benefits, business development and sales processes, account management principles, marketing and outreach strategies, CRM systems, data reporting and analytics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, relationship building, sales and negotiation, presentation development, proposal writing, marketing collateral creation, data analysis, problem solving, event planning, creating sales enablement resources/tools, organization, time management, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with employers and brokers, identify and pursue new business opportunities, translate employer needs into tailored solutions, manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, collaborate effectively across teams, think strategically and creatively, and represent WellSpan professionally in the community.
