Day Hospital Program Manager - York Child Adolescent - days
Full time (80 hours biweekly)
Weekdays, daytime hours; 8 am to 4 pm
Job Description:
Under the direction of the program director and in concert with the other treatment team members, this staff coordinates the day-to-day functions that support program operations. This staff also manages the milieu, conducts individual, family, and group therapeutic interventions, performs primary case contact and management with family members and community agencies, and performs documentation related to caring for children and adolescents with mental health issues. This staff person assumes leadership of the administrative and clinical operations of the day hospital program when the manager uses benefit time.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists the program director with overseeing the day-to-day management of the program.
- Coordinates, tracks, and provides feedback to the director regarding administrative functions that support program services as needed and according to established standards.
- Maintains safe and therapeutic environment for clients and staff as needed and according to established standards
- Coordinates and monitors referral and admission processes to ensure clinical appropriateness and efficient provision of services.
- Conducts clinical interventions according to established standards
- Completes and oversees documentation according to established standards
- Evaluates clients’ clinical progression and aftercare planning and appropriateness for continued treatment or discharge.
- Provides clinical supervision to program staff and is responsible for the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans for program clients.
- Assists and supervises program staff with ongoing assessment of program clients’ progress, readiness for discharge, identification of aftercare in collaboration with client, family, and involved providers, and make referrals as needed.
- Performs continued stay reviews with HMOs
- Facilitates coordination of treatment team, collaboration of community agencies and investigates the availability of alternative community resources.
- Assists Program Director in evaluating and refining program processes.
- Assists Program Director in providing ongoing support and direction to program staff, implementing corrective action plans as needed and completing annual performance evaluations as needed.
- Demonstrates understanding of customer service issues, effectively resolves customer concerns, and identifies opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with the promotion and marketing of program services.
- Ensures implementation of policies and procedures.
- Coordinates and monitors volunteers and interns.
- Coordinates staff schedules, transportation and daily assignments.
- Interviews and orients new personnel, in conjunction with program director.
- Assist in identifying staff educational and training needs and assist in staff’s ongoing professional development.
- Assists in monitoring documentation and standards of care, including completion of chart reviews.
- Assists Director to address and resolve client funding matters.
- Assists the program director in preparing for site visits by DHS and the Joint Commission. Maintains compliance with all DHS, Joint Commission and managed care standards and expectations.
- Complies with WellSpan Philhaven policies and procedures for Partial Hospitalization documentation.
- Assists the program director in developing and implementing performance improvement standards which are monitored on a monthly basis.
Qualifications
- Minimum Experience:
- 3 years
- Minimum Education:
- Master’s Degree
- Minimum Field Of Expertise:
- Mental Health related field.
- Skills:
- Requires substantial interpersonal, verbal, and listening skills to counsel and instruct patients and their families, to establish therapeutic interactions with patients and/or family members, to empathize with patients and to communicate clearly in a therapeutic manner; Analytical ability necessary to provide objective and accurate feedback to appropriate persons concerning emotions, cognitions, behavior, and ability to assist in developing and implementing the treatment plan. Ability to understand symptoms sufficient to diagnose all forms of mental illness. Ability to understand complex interpersonal and psychodynamic issues and to devise therapeutic strategies and interventions; Visual ability required for normal interpersonal interaction and to manage written information.
