Position Summary:

Schedule / Location:

Part-time, 20 hours per week.  Primary hours will be between 8 - 4:30 however, may need to work 1 evening per week.  Location:  Primary location Apple Hill; however may also work in Gettysburg and Hanover

General Summary:
Under general supervision, assesses and monitors nutritional care, manages physician ordered therapeutic diets and provides nutritional education to patients. May coordinate patient menu activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1 Performs nutritional assessments and follow up care involving review of patient charts, diagnoses, and nutritional history.
Develops and implements a nutrition care plan, as appropriate.
2 Performs nutritional screenings and follow up on assigned areas.
3 Documents all relevant aspects of nutritional care for patients in accordance with institutional and departmental standards.
4 Reviews, updates, and coordinates patient nutritional care through ongoing communications with nursing, providers and
other members of the health care team.
5 Assesses patients' educational needs. Develops and implements a nutrition education plan for patients on assigned area.
Teaches group nutrition classes.
6 Writes diet and enteral and parenteral nutrition orders, in coordination with the patients provider.
7 Represents clinical nutrition at multidisciplinary committees, task forces and project groups.
8 Participates in performance improvement initiatives.

Required Skills
  • Minimum Education:  Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition or related field
  • Required Certification:  Registered Dietician Nutritionist or Licensed Dietician-Nutritionist
