Certified Nurse Midwife

OB/GYN Gettysburg Hospital

WellSpan Health, an integrated not-for-profit health system serving the communities of South-Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland, is seeking a per-diem Certified Nurse-Midwife to join our growing OB/GYN team in Adams County. The organization consists of a multispecialty medical group of 220 care locations, eight hospitals, and a growing number of academic clinical affiliations. WellSpan Health is a team of 20,000 healthcare professionals committed to transforming the health of the communities we serve and educating medicine's next generation of Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.

About the Position

  • Provide care across the lifespan with emphasis on pregnancy, childbirth, and reproductive health
  • On call 24-hour rotation responsible for rounds/L&D at Gettysburg Hospital
  • Two to three 24-hour call rotations per month plus two office days every four weeks
  • Candidates must live within 30 minutes of Gettysburg Hospital (not required to stay at hospital while on call)
  • Support team of four midwives delivering on average 24-27 babies per month

About the Community

Gettysburg is famous for being the site of a major Civil War battle and has tons of historical sites and museums. The Gettysburg National Military Park allows visitors to explore the battlefield and learn about the history.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • Masters Degree Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 2 years Relevant experience. Required

Licenses:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required or
  • Registered Nurse Multi State License Upon Hire Required and
  • Certified Nurse Midwife Upon Hire Required and
  • Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • Appropriate Clinical specialty certification from American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB). Upon Hire Required and
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Nurse-Midwifery. Upon Hire Required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Considerable degree of independent judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communications skills.

Established in 1800, Adams County includes the borough of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
