General Summary

Plans, organizes, directs and performs a wide variety of administrative, clinical and research functions for cardiovascular services across the system specific to the Advanced Cardiac CT Program. Functions as the central figure in the overall operations of the Advanced Cardiac CT Program, including inpatient and outpatient oversight, in conjunction with the Non-Invasive and Invasive Cardiologists.

Essential Functions:

  • In conjunction with the Heart and Vascular Service Line leadership, develops a strategy to navigate program development, growth and expansion of the Advanced Cardiac CT Program with the Program's capacity to market services to those needs.
  • Implements and oversees the creation of new policies and procedures, objectives, staff training & competencies, quality assessment and safety measures as it relates to the Advanced Cardiac CT program in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Develops protocols and standards of care for Advanced Cardiac CT procedures.
  • Communicates progress of the program and identifies areas for opportunity, growth and improvements to the medical and administrative team on an ongoing basis
  • Actively participates in research projects that arise from the Cardiac CT Program as directed by the Medical Director and Administrator(s).
  • Compiles data for and prepares regularly scheduled or special reports, analyses and statements as requested.
  • Actively participates in data collection to assure that data related to Advanced Cardiac CT patients is reported accurately and appropriately for purposes of Quality Improvement.
  • Prepares QA dashboard and agenda in order to moderate regularly scheduled QA review meetings for the Advanced Cardiac CT program.
  • Reviews and evaluates completed work for quality and completeness.
  • Develops, coordinates and implements educational materials needed by the patient and family.
  • Provides support and education to surrounding staff and health professionals regarding Advanced Cardiac CT procedures.
  • Works with Administration to develop monthly reports on Advanced Cardiac CT volume.
  • Responsible for organizing the essential components for obtaining and maintaining ACR accreditation.

Common Expectations:

  • Selects, trains/orients, assigns department staff, evaluates performance, and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with referring physicians, administrators, nursing, and technical staff.
  • Collaborates with Patient Financial representatives about insurance coverage for the procedures. Informs physicians of coverage decisions by insurance providers. Assists with insurance appeal, if necessary.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the patient, visitors, and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation
  • Actively participates in local and national meetings to exchange knowledge and information in the area of Advanced Cardiac CT.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • Masters Degree In Healthcare Administration or MBA. Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 5 years Relevant experience including experience in Cardiac CT. Required and
  • Supervisory experience Required
  • Experience in Aquilion Cardiac CT unit. Preferred

Licenses:

  • Registered Technologist-Computed Tomography - ARRT Upon Hire Required or
  • Certified in Computed Tomography - NMTCB Upon Hire Required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills.
