General Summary:



Under the general supervision of the Senior Director-WellSpan Medical Equipment, performs a wide variety of administrative and fiscal functions including, but not limited to, planning, budget and finance, personnel, quality analysis and process improvement to ensure successful financial operation of the WellSpan Medical Equipment.



Duties and Responsibilities:


1. Directs and coordinates business operations activities for the department in consultation with the senior director.

2. Monitors DME activities, recording and reporting statistical data, including financial data, to identify areas for improvement.

3. Oversees revenue and expense functions of the department. Works with System Financial Services to assist with data analysis, reporting and budgeting.

4. Collaborates with other department managers in the operation of the department.

5. Oversees accounts receivable functions and related staff.

6. Oversees reimbursement and collection activities including AutoPay, Snap Worx, and resupply programs within the department

7. Facilitates and coordinates performance improvement initiatives.

8. Recommends staffing levels, selects, and assigns staff, evaluates performance, evaluates/tests competencies (as applicable), provides orientation, training and continuing education of staff, and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.

9. Assists in the development and preparation of capital budget and the annual operating budget.

10. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations.

11. Coordinates and integrates services within the department/service line/entity, with other departments/service lines/entities, and with the System's primary functions. Participates in the selection of outside services (if needed).

12. Develops, establishes, and implements goals, objectives, and policies and procedures for department/service line/entity operation, and which guide and support the provision of the department/service line/entity's services.

13. Provides reports to Senior Director-WellSpan Medical Equipment, as needed.

14. Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

The following are nonessential job accountabilities for ADA

15. Participates on committees, as needed.

16. Represents the System and WellSpan Medical Equipment in local, regional, and national organizations.

17. Performs other related duties as identified.





Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree

Minimum Experience: 3 - 5 years

Min Field Of Expertise: Healthcare or business administration; DME knowledge preferred

Working Conditions Subject to many interruptions

Occasional pressure due to deadlines for work completion

Skills: Other Excellent communication, interpersonal, managerial and computer skills; Able to work well in a team environment as a member and/or leader; Able to accept responsibility; Thorough knowledge of relevant specialty areas; Analytical and logical approach to solving problems
