Billing Clerk - Surgical Services York - Days

General Summary

Reviews and verifies data for accuracy and enters into various systems via computer. Provides billing services for the organization by performing a variety of duties related to the billing and entering of charges.

Shift

Full Time, Days, Monday-Friday 7AM-3:30PM

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Performs various clerical duties to expedite the billing process, including recording patient identification data, physician diagnosis etc.
• Ensures accurate financial and biographical information has been obtained and properly entered into the appropriate records.
• Enters data into mainframes, personal computers or microcomputers.
• Completes manual charge entry of special procedures on System accounts.
• Researches all information to complete the billing process.
• Resolves billing problems and/or receives insurance updates.
• Processes and distributes copies of billings as required.
• Compiles data for and prepares regularly scheduled or special reports, analyses and statements.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

• High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience:

• Less than 1 year Relevant experience/ Required
• Medical insurance billing experience. Preferred and
• Business office experience. Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Basic computer and typing skills.
• Good communications and interpersonal skills.
