Behavioral Health Professional - START Program in Adams County Prison - Days

Location: WellSpan Medical Group, York, PA
Schedule: Full Time

Full time (80 hours biweekly)

Weekdays; 8 am to 4;30 pm

Sign on Bonus Eligible

General Summary

This role is the therapist in an innovative, and evidence-based program treating inmates with substance use disorder at the Adams County Prison.

The other team member includes a Certified Recovery Specialist. Under general supervision, provides Level of Care Assessments, intakes, and group services. Collaborates with prison staff, probation and courts in coordination of care for inmates. Participates in after-care planning for reentrants by liaising with county re-entry teams.

Under general supervision, provides individual and group therapy. Interviews patients and/or families to obtain psycho-social histories.

Program Goal:

The goal of treatment is to eliminate overdoses upon reentry and connect reentrants to recovery plan/community.

  • Conducts individual or group therapy sessions. Assesses patients' progress and modifies or extends treatment program accordingly.
  • Provides therapeutic intervention with patient including individual and group therapies.
  • Documents current, accurate observations of care to the patient in appropriate records.
  • Coordinates care of assigned patients.

Minimum Education:

  • Masters Degree Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 6 - 12 months, SUD substance use disorder preferred with CADC or CAADC

Driver's License Statement:

Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.
