Behavioral Health Clinical Assistant - CADD OP - Day/Eve

Job Description:
Under direct supervision of physician/APP and general supervision of nursing, works as a member of the patient care delivery team, and as designated per established policies and procedures. Acts as a liaison between the physician/APP and patient/family with basic understanding of behavioral health and physical health. Supports the activities and necessary functions related to providing high quality professional care in a patient and family-centered fashion that is customer friendly. Develops a good collaborative, professional relationship that enhances each of their respective functions and promotes improved outcomes and clinical efficiencies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyzes chart for missing information such as physician signatures. Also, checks to see if authorizations need to be requested by clinician.
- Measures and records patient height, weight, pulse, BMI, BP, and waist circumference.
- Attaches prepared forms and documents to the appropriate patient’s records as directed by the program nurse and/or physician.
- Documents and records information into the patient record by entering, recording, storing and maintaining information in written or electronic form.
- Assist the program nurse with coordinating and facilitating closing of a client’s medical record in accordance to program policy or as directed by the assigned physician.
- Responsible for filing and scanning all pertinent information into medical record (i.e., lab reports, progress notes, initial evaluations, etc.) as needed.
- Ensures the validity of the releases of information.
- Ensures all patient care areas are adequately stocked with unexpired supplies. Notifies supervisor when reorder points are reached.
- Adheres to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996.
- Possess the knowledge to keep patients safe in all areas of the patient care setting.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education:
- High School or G.E.D.
- Preferred Experience:
- Preferred Experience3-6 months experience in a health-related field with specialized or technical skills/knowledge preferred.
- Health-related, behavioral health
- Required Certification:
- BLS certification
- Preferred Certification:
- Certified Nursing Assistant
- Skills:
- Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills; analytical abilities; computer and keyboard skills; knowledge of and ability in the care and handling of patients in all age groups; knowledge of Lexicomp, Lippincott, Systems of Care, eCare, community services and/or other physician support systems; proficiency in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) principles of de-escalation
- Must possess a valid driver’s license in the current state of residence; driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management

Get to know us: Located in Lancaster County, the Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities (CADD) is a regional center of excellence that serves patients and families in Central Pennsylvania. We have a multidisciplinary team (from the fields of psychiatry, nursing, psychology, applied behavior analysis, social work, and counseling) with recognized expertise in the treatment of the social, emotional, and behavioral issues affecting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Intellectual Disability (ID). We offer center-based services, which include diagnostic evaluations, short-term consultation and ongoing treatment. In addition, we provide community-based services, which include ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) for adults in a variety of settings.
Who we serve…While CADD clients and families are all impacted by a developmental disability, we often support them with a variety of other concerns. These include but are not limited to: anxiety, ADHD, depression, OCD, social skills, interpersonal relationships, and family and caregiver support.
