WellSpan Health, a sophisticated medical community in south central Pennsylvania, is seeking a full-time Bariatric Surgeon to join a well-established group. This is an opportunity to join a mature medical group employing 1,600 providers.


Position details:

  • Full time, employed position
  • Board certified/eligible in General Surgery w/ a fellowship in Bariatric Surgery
  • Experience in a range of bariatric procedures including gastric by-pass
  • Applicants will be asked to provide their operative log
  • Ability to perform therapeutic upper endoscopy is preferred
  • This collegial group is comprised of three surgeons
  • Call is 1:3 and is taken from home
  • 600+ bariatric surgeries performed per year at York Hospital (YH)
  • Strong support by Trauma/Acute Care Surgical Team & Hospitalists
  • YH is an accredited MBSAQIP Comprehensive Center
  • It’s also a Blue Distinction Center for Excellence in Bariatric Surgery
  • The 25+ member team is headquartered in a newly renovated office
  • Comprehensive program including IM, pulm, behavioral health & cardiology
  • Dieticians, social workers & fitness professionals support the team
