Advanced Practice Provider - Neonatology

Location: WellSpan Medical Group, York, PA
Schedule: PRN/Per Diem

General Summary

In collaboration with the physician, provides diagnosis and treatment of patients within the scope of practice as defined by all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, protocols, etc. and within the individual Advanced Practice Provider's (APP) particular clinical specialty area, licensure, and competency level.

WellSpan Health, an integrated not-for-profit health system serving the communities of South-Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland, is seeking a PRN Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Neonatology team in York County. The organization consists of a multispecialty medical group of 220 care locations, eight hospitals, and a growing number of academic clinical affiliations. WellSpan Health is a team of 20,000 healthcare professionals committed to transforming the health of the communities we serve and educating medicine's next generation of physicians, advanced practice providers and leaders.

About the Position:

  • Per-diem opportunity for a board-certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with prior NICU experience
  • Experienced candidate will be responsible for stabilization of high-risk newborns in delivery room and newborn nursery care
  • Schedule requires 24-hour shifts
  • Seeking a provider who is adept at newborn assessment and stabilization for Level I nursery
  • Preceptorship and mentorship for WellSpan Family Medicine residents needed upon request
  • Shifts available in our Level III NICU in York for the candidate with the skill set to function independently in this setting

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Masters Degree For Nurse Practitioner. Required or
  • Bachelors Degree For Physician Assistant. Required
  • Masters Degree For Physician Assistant. Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 1 year Relevant experience. Required

Licenses:

  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner Upon Hire Required or
  • National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Upon Hire Required
  • Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
  • Neonatal Advanced Life Support Certification Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • For Nurse Practitioner - Completion of an accredited program for nurse practitioners. Upon Hire Required and
  • For Physician Assistant - Graduate of accredited physician assistant program. Upon Hire Required
