Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography (AEMUS) Fellowship Director

We are currently seeking a board certified or board eligible physician to join our team in York, PA, as the Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography (AEMUS) Fellowship Director at WellSpan York Hospital's Department of Emergency Medicine.

Duties:

  • Provide oversight and direction for the AEMUS Fellowship Program, accepting 2 fellows per year.
  • Maintain program accreditation with the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship Accreditation Council (EUFAC).
  • Collaborate with the Ultrasound Director on operational matters.
  • Oversee fellow recruitment, interviews, and the match process.
  • Supervise the fellows' curriculum, education, journal club, M&M reviews, and research.
  • Serve on the Program Evaluation Committee (PEC) and Clinical Competency Committee (CCC).
  • Participate in regional and national conferences.
  • Lead in Emergency Ultrasound research.

Requirements:

  • Board certification by ABEM or ABOEM.
  • Focused Practice Designation in Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound.
  • Proven expertise in Emergency Ultrasound Education.
  • Demonstrated scholarship in Clinical Ultrasonography.

About WellSpan York Hospital's Department of Emergency Medicine:

WellSpan York Hospital's Department of Emergency Medicine handles approximately 95,000 visits annually and operates as a 600-bed tertiary care teaching hospital. It offers a 3-year ACGME-accredited residency program and is designated as a Level 1 Trauma Center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The hospital also serves as a STEMI Center for acute myocardial infarction care and provides ECMO services. In the near future, it is expected to host a Temple Medical School campus, further enhancing its educational and medical capabilities.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required or
  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required

Licenses:

  • Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required or
  • Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • Completion of an Emergency Medicine residency. Upon Hire Required and
  • Must qualify and be a member of the Medical Staff of York Hospital. Upon Hire Required and
  • Must be credentialed for all core procedures. Upon Hire Required
  • Certification as an Emergency Medical Commander. Upon Hire Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Clinical skills and knowledge of emergency care, techniques and procedures.
  • Teaching skills.
