Technical Specialist-Desktop Services (Senior)

General Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Program Manager-Desktop Services, provides top level technical expertise and leadership in planning, design, support and troubleshooting of System client management infrastructure components.  Is responsible for reliability and stability through established design practices, good implementation and testing protocols.  Assists Manager with setting goals and milestones for future client management technology integration and systems life cycle.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

 1 Performs high level functions relating to client management infrastructure components, design and planning.  Is responsible for strategy, design, analysis and troubleshooting.

 2 Responsible for reliability and stability through established design practices, good implementation and testing protocols.

 3 Collaborates with IS technical teams to provide client-side management services and support.

 4 Uses technical knowledge and expertise to troubleshoot, debug and resolve problems.

 5 Reviews and analyzes systems for design changes, identifies inefficiencies and develops strategies for upgrades or remediation efforts.

 6 Provides technical leadership on complex projects.

 7 Meets with customers to determine specifications and requirements for new implementations.

 8 Interacts with customers through phases of design, implementation, support and maintenance.

 9 Recommends technical training and seminars to enrich staff knowledge and certifications.

 10 Coordinates vendor visits and in-service sessions to review new products and schedule evaluations.

 

Qualifications:

 

  Note: Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered.

 

 Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree 

 

 Minimum Experience:  10 or more years 

 

 Min Field Of Expertise:  Large enterprise desktop client management infrastructure. Extensive background in Virtual Desktop   Technologies(Citrix, VmWare. Experience with Application Virtualization

 

 Req Cert/Registration:  MSCE, MCSA

 

 Skills: Other Excellent communication skills including presentations, training and mentoring of more junior staff; Excellent documentation   skills including design packages, planning/budgeting documents, product evaluations, event reporting, etc.; Possess top level technical   skills & knowledge of enterprise level troubleshooting
