General Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Business Office Manager, provides administrative support for the organization by performing a variety of duties relating to scheduling of patient cases in the ambulatory surgical center operating room.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are essential job accountabilities:
1 Schedules patient appointments within established parameters.
2 Coordinates with appropriate personnel to facilitate creation of the surgical schedule and to ensure that needed equipment, supplies, personnel, and patient information is available for procedures. Prepares surgical schedule.
3 Creates medical records for new patients.
4 Keeps patient records current.
5 Establishes and maintains files and records on an ongoing basis.
6 Enters and/or retrieves data from established computer files using knowledge of various computer software applications.
7 Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers.

Department Description:

Wellspan Health York Hospital has 17 Main ORs with 2 Open Heart OR who have  separate team coverage.   We are a Level I Trauma Center with 24/7 staff coverage.  Our teams provide over 14,000 surgical procedures/year  covering fourteen specialties using some of the world's most advanced medical equipment and navigation systems.   Our core values as defined by our staff are; integrity, respect, performance excellence and accountability for each and every patient were care for in striving to "work as one"  in the Operating Rooms.

Required Skills

Post high school/vocational/specialized training

Medical terminology preferred
