Job Description:

Under the direct supervision of the sleep services regional manager, team leader and/or a registered sleep technologist, performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing, analysis and associated interventions according to established standards and practices.



Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Schedules, performs and evaluates the technical validity of overnight sleep studies, nocturnal pulse oximetry, and other related studies.
  2. Sets up and applies polysomnographic monitoring equipment, ensuring patient safety and accurate test results.
  3. Performs and evaluates the technical validity of the testing procedures.
  4. Reviews test results. Provides summary analysis and reports of all polysomnographic studies for physician review and interpretation.
  5. Instructs patient in use of home sleep apnea testing devices.
  6. Instructs and educates patient in use of therapeutic devices.



  • Minimum Experience:
    • 6 - 12 months
  • Minimum Education:
    • Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training
  • Preferred Education:
    • Associate's Degree
  • Required Certification:
    • Registry eligible by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists; CPR certification
  • Physical Demands:
    • Light physical effort (lift/carry up to 10 lbs)
    • Occasional heavy physical effort (lift/carry 26 to 50 lbs)
    • Frequent prolonged standing/walking
    • Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients
    • Visual abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
