Job Description:
Under general supervision of a Registered Sleep Technologist, performs a variety of tests and studies related to the diagnosis and treatment of sleep-related breathing disorders according to established standards and practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedules, performs and evaluates the technical validity of overnight sleep studies, nocturnal pulse oximetry, and other related studies.
- Sets up and applies polysomnographic monitoring devices, ensuring patient safety and accurate test results.
- Provides summary analysis/reports of all polysomnographic studies for physician review.
- Instructs patient in the home use of therapeutic devices.
- Starts the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) Accredited Sleep Technologist Program (A-Step) after 90-day evaluation period.
Qualifications
- Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training
- Associate's Degree preferred
- No experience required
- CPR certification to be obtained within 3 months of hire.
