Job Description:

Reporting to the director of marketing - consumer marketing and brand experience, the senior marketing specialist – strategy, has a passion for data and the achievement of key performance indicators; presents marketing initiatives and results to executive groups; and leads the creation and execution of strategic marketing plans in support of the health system priorities and operational goals. 

The senior marketing specialist is responsible for leading the development, management, measurement and implementation of strategic marketing plans that support clinical service lines across the health system, specifically primary care, urgent care, women’s & children’s and other front door/top of funnel services and lead generation opportunities.  These plans will serve as the basis of budgetary investment, operational focus & deployment, with a concentration on driving patient growth & retention. 

The senior marketing specialist will be familiar with hospital and clinic operations, industry trends, understand the language, roles of assigned areas and will work closely with the appropriate teams to lead the prioritization and execution of key projects. This includes identifying target audiences, establishing goals and measurement plans, tactical coordination, ensuring brand consistency, coordination/collaboration with content team, physician liaisons, events coordinators, and reporting of results.   

The senior marketing specialist presents applicable market specific intelligence and opportunities, coordinates projects with other staff, establishes goals and objectives for project teams, and provides ongoing assessments of progress. 



Duties and Responsibilities


  1. Manage marketing campaigns to ensure appropriate goals, channels, metrics, allocated budget, and reporting 

  2. Develops relationships with service line leaders to effectively manage a portfolio of strategic service lines 

  3. Works with service line leadership to define key performance indicators and drives team performance to meet and exceed performance targets 

  4. Presents plans and results to key stakeholder groups 

  5. Manage marketing campaigns to ensure appropriate goals, channels, metrics, and allocated budget. Measure and report performance of campaigns against set goals (ROI and KPIs) 

  6. Plan and execute SEO/SEM and display advertising campaigns 

  7. Develop, and implement, marketing automation and digital marketing campaigns 

  8. Work closely with external vendors such as marketing consultant firms, consultants, etc. to ensure that all efforts are within our marketing strategy and System strategic initiatives.  

  9. Collaborates with strategic planning, public relations, digital marketing, and physician liaisons to ensure integrated and coordinated marketing efforts 

  10. Assist in conducting regular market assessments of the community to include the strengths and weaknesses of the competition and potential impact of external changes in health care 

  11. Utilize analytics to provide market insights, and interpret/present data to drive decision making and collaboration 



  • Notes:
    • Other combinations of formal education, training and experience may be considered.


  • Minimum Experience:
    • 5 years
    • Pharmaceutical Marketing experience a plus


  • Minimum Field Of Expertise:
    • Applicable advertising and marketing experience


  • Minimum Education:
    • Four-year degree
    • Masters Degree Preferred


  • Skills:
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and computer skills
    • Able to periodically travel
