Senior Director - Supply Chain Logistics & Distribution

General Summary:

Under general supervision of the VP – Chief Supply Chain Officer, oversees the Supply Chain functions of receiving, distribution, inventory management, linen, and printing services across the System.  Serves as liaison with Supply Chain Sourcing & Contracting, Supply Chain Support & Innovation, Supply Chain Logistics & Distribution, and Financial Services. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

The following are essential job accountabilities:

   1  Oversees Warehousing, Receiving, and Storeroom operations, ensuring timely and accurate receipt, distribution and storage of materials across the System.

   2  In conjunction with the Regional Directors, oversees appropriate management and staffing structure for each region/site.

   3  Oversees WellSpan’s corporate mail service daily operations, including staffing, incoming/outgoing mail services, local PO boxes, and corporate equipment leases

   4  Oversees WellSpan’s third party courier daily operations, including budgeting, reporting, invoice approval, conflict resolution and contract compliance; participates in RFP and contract negotiations

   5  Oversees WellSpan Supply Chain Logistics & Distribution software, including Inventory Management (IMS), Bone & Tissue, and Device Tracking; inclusive of selection, negotiations, and implementations, as well as system compliance to programs/standard work post-implementation.

   6  In conjunction with the Sr. Director – Supply Chain Logistics & Distribution, provides oversight of the Group Purchasing Organization(s) contract(s), including compliance (system and category) and identifying contracting opportunities.

   7  In conjunction with the Sr. Director - Supply Chain Sourcing & Contracting, oversees WellSpan’s distribution contract(s), including daily operations (KPI’s, DSO, Past Due, etc.), contract compliance, and conflict resolution.

   8  In conjunction with the Sr. Director - Supply Chain Sourcing & Contracting, is responsible for Supply Chain activities related to emergency management and disaster response for all sites.

   9  Coordinates daily activities and projects for the Logistics & Distribution Business System Analyst(s).

  1. Participates in the system-wide Value Analysis Team (VAT) process, including New Product Requests and Trials.

11 When applicable, participates in negotiations with suppliers for acquisition of goods and services.

  12  Participate in Value Analysis processes to ensure all incoming supplies, instruments and equipment are properly approved for usage.  Acts as entity liaison between VA and Service Line during onsite trials and large scale supply and equipment conversions. 

  13  Works closely with the WellSpan Supply Chain Informatics Team to recommend, test, and implement ERP            improvements.

  1. Works closely with the WellSpan Supply Chain Informatics Team to resolve issues within the ERP system.

Qualifications:

 

 

Bachelors Degree

Master's Degree preferred

5 - 10 years with 2 - 3 years in progressively more responsible Supply Chain and/or Procurement positions in healthcare, service or

production-based industries

Certification in Production and Inventory Management (NAPM or APICS); or Certified Resource & Materials Professional (AHA/AHRMM)
