Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the Sr. VP & Chief Administrative Officer, manages the overall operation and strategic planning of the WellSpan Imaging Department for all of the entities within WellSpan Health (WSH).  Plans and directs the development, expansion and operation of imaging programs and strategies.  Responsible for the performance of these services and departments through the management of employees, identification of and response to changing market conditions, and by ensuring compliance with accrediting and regulatory requirements.  Effectively manages the capital, financial and human resources of the departments and develops and implements appropriate plans, goals, budgets and policies to ensure alignment with the WSH strategy.  Plans and directs the delivery of quality patient care and related services.  Responsible for developing and implementing strategic vision and goals for these services, including a focus on consumerism goals of access, and convenience.  Supports services in the inpatient hospital environment, outpatient settings and offers indirect supervision of imaging services.


  1. Works with leadership of the organization to develop and support corporate strategy and strategic initiatives which advance WellSpan’s Strategic Plan.
  2. Oversees and provides direction to all imaging services within the Health System.
  3. Oversees the development and successful execution of imaging-based strategic plans and vision for all of the entities within WSH and ensures they align and reflect the strategic goals of the larger organization.
  4. In collaboration with other departments and leaders, develops and implements strategies which will insure achievement of system volume, revenue, access, and patient experience goals.
  5. Demonstrates responsible FTE management.
  6. Seeks and analyzes data which can be used to track improvements in all levels of care across the continuum of imaging service operations and care delivery. Analyzes trends and establish operating plans accordingly.
  7. Communicates financial, marketing and key strategic directions to team to insure all staff receives the information needed to be successful. 
  8. Creates and oversees accountability structures that maintain progress towards system goals and initiatives.
  9. Oversees and ensures the continual development and improvement of clinical competencies.
  10. Understands and actively supports the organization’s goals for patient-centered care. Acts as an employee role model for customer service and positive attitude.
  11. Works collaboratively with entity leadership teams and interacts effectively with internal and external constituents to gather input for improving the delivery of care.
  12. Identifies and analyzes trends in the business climate in each service area. Develops strategies to position the facilities to respond to the needs of the local communities we serve.
  13. Works with the entity leadership teams to provide current information on regulatory and accreditation standards and oversees development of action plans designed to maintain an atmosphere of regulatory readiness at all times.
