Job Description:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties to purchase material, equipment, merchandise and supplies according to System guidelines for cost, quality and delivery.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Accountabilities:

  1. Prepares materials and supplies purchase orders, analyzes quotations and expedites deliveries and shipments.
  2. Follows up with vendors to ensure they meet required delivery dates.
  3. Interviews sales representatives, secures bids and quotes, selects supplies/equipment, and places orders.
  4. Studies market trends, interviews vendors and recommends sources of supply.
  5. Researches and selects products according to quality, price, and serviceability standards. Contacts vendors and hospital personnel to ensure actions are completed.
  6. Processes change orders, notifying vendors of material and quantity requirement revisions; contacts vendors on rate adjustments and incorrect materials.
  7. Obtains certifications of delivery and conducts check against order; checks and approves payment of invoices.
  8. Prepares documents to process requests for equipment repairs, adjustments for damages, and incorrect shipments.
  9. Purchases materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 2 - 3 years
  • Minimum Education:
    • High School or G.E.D.
