Position Summary:

General Summary:
Security Supervisor, under the general supervision of the Manager-Security Operations, supervises, monitors and provides protection and security for WellSpan Health System buildings and premises and for employees, patients and visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are essential job accountabilities:
1 Supervises, schedules, and monitors security activities in assigned areas to ensure secure and safe conditions for employees, patients, and visitors, and to protect System buildings, assets, and premises; inspects work performance/assignments, and recommends improvements in work methods.
2 Responds to emergency situations such as accidents and injuries, crimes in progress and safety hazards. Provides assistance, summons proper authorities and polices area to maintain order, safety and to protect property. Employs all necessary equipment to include RPE (Respiration Protective Equipment) during situations that are deemed a disaster for personal protection.
3 Conducts investigations and prepares incident reports and collaborates with local, state, or national agencies relative to safety and/or security investigations.
4 Collaborates with local, state, and national agencies relative to hospital security investigations; directs and/or escorts agency personnel to hospital buildings and premises.
5 Conducts routine inspections of lots for compliance with parking regulations.
6 Ensures that all rounds, schedules, and directives are maintained on all shifts.
7 Observes and reports any safety violations, unsafe work practices, conditions or areas.

Department Description:

The Safety Services Department provides a safe and secure environment in and around WellSpan Health campus locations.
Required Skills

Minimum Education             High School or G.E.D.


Minimum Experience            1 - 2 years


Management Experience       Supervisory experience required


Must possess a valid driver’s license in the current state of residence.  Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk  Management.
